San Juan de los Terreros is located on the border of Andalusia and Murcia, in the province of Almeria. This area is known for its magnificent scenery, family beaches that gently descend to the Mediterranean. Much thanks to the modernization of the rapidly developing tourism in this region, but preserved its Andalusian charm.

Biggest tourist attractions is the castle, dating back to the sixteenth century, built in the style of coastal promontory forts. The castle is accessible via a steep narrow road from where on a clear day magnificent views spread out along the coast to Cabo Cope and the Castle of Roldán in Carboneras. Visible from the shore of the island is Isla Negra and Isla de Terreros, both were recognized as a natural park, and therefore protected.

San Juan de los Terreros, is only 8 km from the busy fishing port of Aguilas and 12 km from the capital city of Mar de pulp municipality. Although the number of tourists

significantly reduced in the winter months, many people from northern Europe spend their holidays here. Going sea bathing until November.
